RS 26.5 Billion Ehsaas Supplementary Budget Approved
The government has agreed to provide additional 4 million households with one-time monetary assistance of Rs 12,000 each, and has authorized an additional budget of Rs 26.5 billion for this purpose.

Additional one-time support for the 4 million families would cost a total of Rs 48 billion. The finance ministry stated that because the BISP was unable to use all 22 billion rupees of its current-year budget, the money will now go to the second stage of the Ehsaas emergency programme.
According to the ministry, the current National Socioeconomic Registry Survey is part of the 2nd phase’s plan to increase the number of regular Ehsaas Kafalat recipients to 8 million by June 2021. (NSER).

The Strategic Plan Division requested to lower the debt payment costs on a $189 million Chinese loan it had received to start a national satellite project from 15% to 2%, but the ECC avoided making a judgment on the proposal.
