Rs 371 billion Allocated for Development in Next Fiscal
Taimur Jhagra, finance minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, launched the Rs 371 billion annual development programme (ADP) for the upcoming fiscal year, 2021-22, in Peshawar.

During the budget session of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, the minister stated that the government’s main priorities for the upcoming year will be the acceleration of economic recovery, the creation of jobs, the improvement of the human development index, and the prioritisation of service delivery.
According to the budget records, the actual funds for development in the current fiscal year were 317.9 billion rupees, but they were slashed to 250 billion rupees.
To date, just Rs 168 billion of the revised budget of Rs 250 billion had been utilized.

Under the Early Childhood Education Programme, the government would construct 10,000 model classrooms in primary schools and 276 science laboratories in secondary and higher secondary schools. Similarly, Rs 4.5 billion has been allotted for furnishing government schools throughout the province.
The development budget for the department of culture, tourism, and sports has increased from Rs2 billion in the current fiscal year to Rs12 billion in the following.
