Rs. 380 Million Approved for Expansion of Road in Kohat
Following an agreement with the army to demolish barracks, the provincial government has finally approved Rs 380 million for the expansion of the road between Kutchery Chowk and PAF Square, after a delay of twenty years.

Arab Jan, deputy chief warden, informed the officials that the busiest road was sometimes only 15 to 18 feet wide, causing traffic jams. Despite the deployment of traffic officers at various locations, he stated that vehicles required over a half-hour to traverse a one-kilometer stretch of road due to gridlock.
The traffic officer stated that the communication and works department had marked the markets and shops three years ago to be pushed back several feet at various locations in order to accommodate road expansion.

The social and business communities demanded the approval of the project, which was delayed due to a dispute between the government and the army regarding the payment cost of the barracks located on the left side of the road between Martyrs’ Square and the King Gate.
