After starting trade at 288.5 in the interbank market today, the Pakistani rupee strengthened against the US dollar for the third day in a row.
It was positive at 11:30 PM, navigating the 287 level vs the US dollar following a loss of about Rs. 2 in early-day trading.
Subsequently, between 1:30 and 2:30 PM, the interbank rate increased to 285 before stabilising patterns for the rest of the day. Today’s open market rates were between 285 and 288 at several currency counters.
Today, the PKR gained 53 paisas versus the dollar, and at closure, it had improved by 0.19 percent to settle at 285.9.

For the third straight day, the rupee ended the day higher.
The rupee has decreased overall since January 2023 by over Rs. 69. It has decreased by more than Rs. 116 versus the US dollar since April 2022. According to today’s exchange rate moves, the PKR has appreciated by over 53 paisas in relation to the US dollar.
Against the majority of the other major currencies in the interbank market today, the PKR was in the red. It increased by 14 paisas versus the UAE Dirham (AED) and 14 paisas versus the Saudi Riyal (SAR).
On the other hand, in today’s interbank currency market, it lost 61 paisas against the Canadian dollar (CAD), Rs. 2.11 against the euro (EUR), Rs. 2.22 against the British pound (GBP), and Rs. 2.23 against the Australian dollar (AUD).
