Islamabad: Select Technologies, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Air Link Communication Limited, has reportedly announced the inauguration of its smartphone manufacturing operation in Pakistan, which will make Xiaomi devices. The event took place on March 4 at the Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate facility in Kot Lakhpat.

Airlink Group is an industry-leading smartphone manufacturer, retailer, and distributor, with nearly all of the top global brands in the market as partners. The company’s distribution market share is approximately 20%, and it intends to improve its position by beginning to manufacture Xiaomi devices.
Mr. Muzzaffar Hayat Piracha, the CEO of Select Technologies, said in a statement that the relationship with Xiaomi is great news for both the firm and Pakistan. Xiaomi is a global digital juggernaut and market leader in cutting-edge technology that extends beyond smartphones.
