Shanghai Ties with Karachi Under Sister City Framework
Shanghai: Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng said the Shanghai Municipal Government will actively support efforts to further promote mutual cooperation between Shanghai and Karachi within the framework of the sister city affiliation.

He made the comments during a meeting in Shanghai with Pakistan’s ambassador to China, Moin-ul-Haq.
During the meeting, the two sides held detailed discussions on further expanding bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, education and science and technology.

The mayor welcomed the Ambassador to Shanghai and updated him on Shanghai’s successful control and prevention measures to combat the Covid-19 pandemic and the city’s economic growth, which has recovered to pre-pandemic levels.
The Ambassador urged further enhancement of mutual cooperation between the two countries and welcomed more Shanghai companies to invest in Pakistan, especially in Special Economic Zones (SEZs) under his CPEC. The Ambassador extended his congratulations to the Chinese leaders and people on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China this year.
