Shared Proposal for Development of ISB Per 1960 Plan
According to recent reports on May 18, a private company has presented an investment proposal for the finalization of the Islamabad master plan, aligning it with the original development plan from 1960. This proposal is said to have the potential to generate a profit of USD 2 billion without any government expenditures.

The proposal was discussed during a meeting chaired by Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti, who heads the National Assembly Standing Committee on Board of Investment (BoI). Prior to further discussions, Bhatti emphasized the importance of involving all stakeholders, including the Ministry of Housing and Works, the Capital Development Authority (CDA), the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA), and the local administration.
Furthermore, the BoI informed the meeting about the implementation of the ‘One-stop Shop’ initiative, which aims to facilitate investors and stakeholders in the process of investing in Special Economic Zones (SEZs). It was also revealed that a Business-to-Business portal for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will be established, with the Chinese Board of Investment being linked to this portal to assist investors.
