Mr. Manzoor Ali Sheikh, Sindh’s extra Chief Secretary for Local Government, has highlighted the urgency of opening extra bank accounts as soon as possible in order to pay property tax challans. He emphasized the need of efficiency in tax collection and increasing revenue creation during a review meeting that focused on collecting property taxes.
He suggested speeding up the collection of property taxes, emphasizing the need to immediately target all residential and business properties across the province. He gave the go-ahead for the development of the tax-collection network to all Union Councils, districts, and towns.

Additionally, Mr. Manzoor instructed officers to make sure that property tax challans with the right address were delivered on schedule. He further emphasized that no challans should be sent to government structures or entities that are not exempt from paying property taxes.
During the briefing, representatives from the Excise and Taxation Department informed the Sheikh that, with the previous consent of the Sindh Cabinet, responsibility for property tax collection had been formally transferred to the Local Government Department of Sindh. Additionally, this division is now in charge of collecting property taxes across all of Sindh.
The prompt payment of the postal services’ outstanding debts was ordered by ACS LG Manzoor Ali Sheikh, who delivered the challans. He also stressed the importance of keeping a thorough record of all challans that have been reimbursed, along with the reasons behind them. He suggested that the collection of property taxes be accelerated right away.
