Site Suggested for Islamabad Cricket Stadium
Islamabad: According to the most recent reports, a location was proposed on January 13 for the construction of the Islamabad Cricket Stadium. The stadium is anticipated to seat almost 60,000 spectators.

Planning Minister Asad Umar presided over a review meeting attended by CDA Chairman Amir Ali Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Hamza Shafqaat, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) Ali Nawaz Awan, Commissioner Rawalpindi Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah, and CDA Member Engineering Sayed Munawar Shah, among others.
At the meeting, the CDA presented the planned design and location of the cricket stadium. Chairman Ahmed recommended construction of the stadium at Saidpur.
In addition, Planning Minister Umar instructed the CDA to investigate alternative project locations. It was determined that the CDA would search for a second site and that both sites, as well as the design, would be given to Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan for final approval.

Notably, the CDA will supply the land for the stadium, while the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will construct it.
The committee reportedly also approved the signal-free Srinagar Highway project and the relocation of the Rawalpindi landfill to Mandra.
