Six New Projects Being Implemented in Petroleum Sector
Islamabad: During the current fiscal year 2021-22 (FY22), the Petroleum Division will undertake six new projects to develop energy sector self-sufficiency, reduce regulatory framework problems related to minerals, and consolidate data.

According to official documents, the government has allocated Rs 40 million from the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2021-22 for a new project involving the development of Strategic Underground Gas Storage (SUGS), the hiring of consultancy services for a bankable feasibility study, and the provision of transaction advisory services (PC-II).
In addition, Rs 1,473 million have been allocated for seven ongoing schemes, including Rs 263 million for the establishment of the National Minerals Data Centre (NMDC), Rs 345.321 million for the expansion and upgradation of the Pakistan Petroleum Core House (PETCORE), Rs 30 million for geological mapping on 50 of 354 unmapped toposheets in the outcrop area of Balochistan, and Rs 385.336 million for the strengthening and upgradation of Karachi Laboratories Com.
The petroleum division would spend a total of Rs 3,249,540,000,000 on thirteen ongoing and new projects in FY22.
