Swiss Envoy Calls for Enhancing Investment
According to Benedict de Cerjat, the Swiss ambassador to Pakistan, Swiss companies operating in Pakistan are pleased with the country’s business-friendly atmosphere and are eager to increase their investment.
The ambassador claimed that while regulations in Switzerland were business-friendly, the political system was stable during his visit to the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).

Cerjat acknowledged that bilateral trade did not adequately capture the true potential of the two nations. He said that trade delegation exchanges and trade exhibits may strengthen bilateral trade relations.
The ambassador further stated that both nations had to cooperate to develop a green economy. He said that the issue of global warming had grown to be one that required coordinated action.

In 2020, the volume of bilateral trade was $336 million, of which Pakistan’s exports to Switzerland accounted for only about $15 million.
Pharmaceuticals, value-added textile, surgical instruments, sporting products, agribusiness, technology, renewable energy, and other industries are possible areas where both nations might expand trade and economic cooperation, according to Misbah.
