Tender for Hyderabad-sukkur Motorway to Be Floated
According to press reports, Dr. Shahbaz Gill, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) for Political Communication, has claimed that building on the 306-kilometer, 6-lane Hyderabad-Sukkur (M-6) highway will soon commence.

According to reports, the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) previously accepted the amended Project Concept-1 (PC) for this project at a cost of PKR 191.471 billion.
The SAPM indicates that the project will be constructed on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) basis. In this regard, an invitation to bid will be issued for the multibillion-dollar project in October 2021. The project is anticipated to commence next year.

Previously, applications for the expression of interest were invited on October 10, 2016, and technical bids were opened on February 14, 2017. The initial cost estimate for the project was 175 billion Pakistani rupees. Nonetheless, the project was delayed. The government is currently prepared to reissue the bid with a revised budget of PKR 191 billion.
