Tender for Kohsar Tourism Expressway Project Awarded to FWO
According to news sources, the government of Punjab has granted the contract for the game-changing Kohsar Tourism Expressway project to the Frontier Works Organization (FWO). The government has also issued a work order to commence the project as soon as possible.
According to the specifications, FWO has been awarded a PKR 4.5 billion contract for the 123-kilometer-long, 18-month-long tourism motorway. The government has already allocated 1.75 billion Pakistani Rupees to initiate the project’s construction in the current fiscal year.
In the third week of November at Kahuta, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar is expected to lay the foundation stone for the project. Sadaqat Ali Abbasi, a member of the National Assembly (MNA), stated that the highway will increase tourism and assist open up significant investment and business prospects for the region’s domestic and international tourism businesses.

In addition, if completed, the tourism highway will connect the four Rawalpindi districts of Kalar Syedan, Kahuta, Murree, and Kotli Sattian to the Lower Toppa and northern regions of the country.
The project includes high-rise buildings, restaurants, rest stops, and motels on both sides of the road, which will aid in job creation and economic growth.
