Thalassemia Center Inaugurated in HFH
At Holy Family Hospital (HFH), Rawalpindi, Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid opened a 20-bed thalassemia centre.
She announced that free blood transfusions would be given to the youngsters at the thalassemia facility. She promised that comparable thalassemia centres would be established in all of Punjab’s public hospitals.

Yasmin Rashid, the provincial health minister, presided over the 10th syndicate meeting of Rawalpindi Medical University (RMU).
Along with faculty members, Dr. Asif Tufail, additional secretary of the department of specialised health care, and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Umer, vice chancellor of RMU, attended the syndicate meeting.
The diploma, fellowship, MS, MD, MPhil, and PhD university residency programmes were approved at the syndicate meeting. The purchase of medicinal oxygen containers from the Covid Fund was also approved at the meeting. SOPs for supporting research projects were also adopted during the syndicate meeting.

Ineffective promotion concerning the Covid-19 vaccination should be discouraged, according to the health minister, and people should not take such stories seriously. Vaccination is necessary for the effective control of corona, he added.
