Third POS Lucky Draw Held by FBR
Tuesday in Islamabad, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) announced the third fortunate draw results for the FBR Point of Sale (POS) receipt verification scheme (March 15). A total of 1,007 winners received a total of 53 million Pakistani Rupees.

Sources indicate that the FBR’s receipt verification mechanism has garnered considerable attention. In February alone, consumers who purchased from stores linked to the FBR POS System confirmed over 260,833 invoices, up to 153,000 in January 2022.

In addition, Tier-1 Retailers connected to the System issued around 38 million bills in February, up from 37 million in January 2022, citing the necessity of integrating POS techniques to avoid penalties. Dr. Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmed, chairman of the FBR and secretary of the Revenue Division, emphasized during the cash rewards event that the government has effectively reregulated a number of Tier-1 suppliers.
