Three Mini Dams of 400 KV Capacity Inaugurated in KP
According to news sources, Taj Muhammad Khan Trand, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Power and Energy in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), inaugurated three mini-dams in the districts of Shamlai, Trangar, and Aien in Battagram.

The aggregate capacity of the three projects to generate electricity is 400 kilovolts (KV), with individual capacities of 250 KV, 150 KV, and 50 KV, respectively.
The project is part of a succession of mini-micro hydropower projects that will be constructed throughout the province to address the province’s rising electricity demand. In phase-II of the plan, the remaining 22 districts would receive their own mini-dams, according to the minister, who also suggested that comparable projects will soon commence.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Project Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Qazi Muhammad Naeem, Hydrolink Engineer CEO Fazal Rabbi, Project Director Mini-micro Hydro project Col (retired) Muhammad Shahid Yousafzai, Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO) member Fawad Dawar, and local elders and notables.

The minister requested that more of these places be identified for the construction of small dams, as the cash generated from the sale of excess energy to neighbouring districts will aid in district development.
