Authorities have introduced new measures to improve transparency in matric practical examinations, including a strict ban on using market-purchased or externally prepared practical record books.

Muzammil Mahmood, Chairman of the Task Force on Examinations, has instructed that only students who prepare their own practical copies will be awarded marks.

According to him, examiners will verify each practical notebook by comparing it with the candidate’s handwriting to discourage cheating and the use of pre-written or fake record books.

Under the new rules, every checked practical notebook will be torn after evaluation to prevent any possibility of reuse.

The chairman also warned that strict action will be taken against officials if the directives are not properly enforced.

The reforms aim to strengthen the credibility of practical examinations and eliminate long-standing loopholes that allowed students to submit purchased or copied record books instead of their own work.
