Timely Accomplishment of Remaining FATF Action Plan
Shaukat Tarin, the federal minister for finance and revenue, expressed pleasure over the tremendous progress made across all areas of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) action plan and vowed to keep working towards the timely completion of the plan’s remaining components.

According to a news release from the Finance Ministry, the minister was speaking with Director General Lubna Farooq Malik of the Financial Monitoring Unit (FMU), who gave him an update on the FATF plan’s development.
The DG FMU noted a number of steps that the Pakistani government had done to strengthen its anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CFT) regimes in accordance with global best practices.

She also informed the finance minister that Pakistan’s performance had been praised by FATF in its most recent plenary, which took place in February 2021.
