To Improve Municipal Services KP Gets RS 98bn for 5 Cities
According to our correspondents, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) would receive Rs. 98 billion on December 13 to upgrade municipal services in five cities.

KP would receive 385 million rupees for city improvement initiatives. The municipal services of Kohat, Mardan, Abbottabad, Peshawar, and Mingora will be enhanced. In addition, the funding will be used to upgrade the sewerage and drainage systems, build green urban areas and water supply systems, and provide interconnected solid waste management systems.
Mr. Shakeel Ahmed Mian, secretary of the Department of Local Government and Rural Development, indicated that Rs. 98 billion would be allocated over five years for municipal urban infrastructure, sewage treatment plants, solid waste management, and water delivery.

Additionally, the ADB stated that the loan would benefit more than 3.5 million individuals. People will have access to safe and clean water, sanitation services, green urban spaces, and gender-sensitive facilities. In addition, the new water delivery system will install smart water meters in about 150,000 homes.
