Training in Swat Was Conducted to Promote Tourism
Swat: “Travel Responsibly for Experiencing Ecotourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” (TREK) is a collaboration between the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the World Bank, and Nestlé to encourage responsible tourism for a waste-free future.

As part of TREK’s community engagement programmes, Nestlé Pakistan, in cooperation with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s Tourism Department, offered a comprehensive training on trash management and sustainable tourism in Swat. Additionally, Nestlé has donated 2,000 reusable bags to communities in Swat.
In accordance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 12, 13, 15, and 17, a campaign concentrating on Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle and a strategy for Community Engagement that includes activities to combat waste, pollution, and the extinction of animals are proposed.
An representative of the World Bank from Pakistan tweeted, “We are pleased to bring this project to Swat, which is seeing a growing visitor influx.” We believe that this relationship will yield outcomes on the ground by promoting a responsible approach to destination management and environmental stewardship.”

The TREK communication campaign was launched in June 2021 in Nathiagali to promote responsible tourism in the Galiyat region.
This was followed in August 2021 by a two-day course entitled “TREK for Healthier Kids.” The event finished with the delivery of 4,000 reusable bags and 2,300 N4HK books to Galiyat’s children.
