Twitter Allow Voice and Video Calls without Giving Phone Number
Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter Inc, recently disclosed information regarding upcoming features on the platform, which include encrypted messaging and the incorporation of voice and video calls.
Musk had previously discussed plans for “Twitter 2.0 The Everything App,” which would introduce features like encrypted direct messages, longer tweets, and payment options.
In a tweet, Musk made an announcement that Twitter will be introducing voice and video chat capabilities, enabling users to communicate globally without the need to share their phone numbers.

The addition of calling features will align Twitter with other social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, which already offer similar functionalities. Musk also mentioned the launch of an encrypted version of direct messages on Twitter, commencing from Wednesday, although it remains unclear if the calling feature will also be encrypted.
Furthermore, Twitter has recently declared its intention to remove and archive inactive accounts that have remained dormant for several years as part of a purification process.
