UAE Universities Improve Massively in Global Education Ranking
The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) has recently released its Global 2000 list for 2023, and three prominent universities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), led by Khalifa University, have been acknowledged for their achievements.
Khalifa University, situated in Abu Dhabi, has made remarkable progress by advancing 23 positions to secure the 892nd rank, primarily due to its commendable research performance.

UAE University in Al Ain has also made a significant stride, climbing 5 places to attain the 1178th position. Likewise, the University of Sharjah has demonstrated impressive growth, ascending by 121 spots to secure the 1399th rank. CWUR conducted an analysis of approximately 62 million data points to determine these rankings.

The UAE’s universities have outperformed their global counterparts, as evidenced by the notable presence of three institutions in the top rankings. This improvement can be attributed to their enhanced research performance. The rankings were based on several criteria, including the quality of education, employability, faculty caliber, and research output.
In the 2023 edition, a total of 20,531 universities from 95 countries were evaluated, and only the highest-ranking universities were included in the prestigious Global 2000 list.
