Islamabad’s Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Climate Change, Malik Amin Aslam, stated that the earth’s natural resources, biodiversity, and ecosystems, which collectively comprise our planet’s fundamental natural capital, are under risk of rapid depletion due to overexploitation.

Thursday’s signing ceremony was place in the climate change ministry in the presence of Malik Amin Aslam, an assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan, and Dr. Christian Turner, the British High Commissioner to Pakistan.
Both parties agreed to collaborate on the introduction of the natural capital accounting system and its implementation for the preservation of natural resources, biodiversity, and ecosystems.
The PM’s aide emphasised that the continued obscurity of natural capital is largely attributable to the fact that ecosystems services and biodiversity advantages have historically not been defined in monetary terms, and it can be exceedingly difficult to quantify these benefits in monetary terms.

In his remarks, British High Commissioner Christian Turner emphasised the richness and significance of Pakistan’s natural resources, as well as its importance to the country’s socioeconomic and environmental growth.
