Speakers at a conference in Gilgit urged the use of contemporary technology to promote sustainable development and reap the benefits of the region’s natural riches.
Karakoram International University hosted the two-day international conference named “Collective action for knowledge economy with technology (DigiCAKE)”.

Attending the conference were KIU Vice-Chancellor Attaullah Shah, Senior Minister Ubaidullah Baig, Finance Minister Javed Manwa, GB Assembly Deputy Speaker Advocate Nazir Ahmed, faculty members, students, and specialists.
Werner Chrisie, a former health minister of Norway, and other specialists from various nations took part in the conference through video link.
The finance minister stated that the government was fostering public-private partnerships and was taking initiatives to offer people with quick internet access.

Attaullah Shah, vice chancellor at KIU, stated that the natural resource potential in GB was enormous. With the use of contemporary technologies, “natural resources in GB need to be found and harnessed for the economic growth of locals,” he continued.
He claimed that technology was being used to access natural resources.
