WASA to Get 7.1m Euro Funds Under EU Partnership Program
Lahore: The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Lahore and Mardan have been selected to receive EUR 7.1 million under the Water Operator Partnership initiative of the European Union (EU), according to a news source citing WASA MD Syed Zahid Aziz.

Details indicate that WASA Lahore and Mardan submitted an application to the Budapest Water Works through the Pakistan Water Operators Network. The two companies were the only South Asian representatives chosen for this program. The director general of WASA stated that it was an honor for the companies to be chosen for this program.
WASA Lahore and WASA Mardan will collaborate with Budapest Water Works, according to MD Zahid. Under this effort, the companies will work together to promote technology awareness, provide clean water and sanitation, and share their experiences.

WASA Lahore and Mardan will be able to strengthen its IT system, training, SCADA system, and customer service through this three-year program. MD Zahid Aziz further highlighted that WASA Mardan and Lahore workers will have access to foreign training possibilities.
In addition, the EU will offer funding for the Water Operator Partnership and contribute to the achievement of sustainable development objectives through the Global Water Operators Partnership Alliance.
