WASA Needs Rs.614m to Move Tubewells, Water Supply Lines
The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) seeks Rs. 614 million from the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to relocate water supply lines, tubewells, and sewage lines alongside Leh Nullah for the Leh Nullah Expressway and flood channel project, according to the most recent news.
Nevertheless, the RDA has requested that the Rawalpindi and Chaklala Cantonment Board, WASA, and Military lands and cantonment estimate the land and structures that are likely to impede the building of the Leh Expressway and Flood Channel Project.
After obtaining the public estimate, the RDA will finalize their estimates and include them into the PC-I for land acquisition for the construction project.
The government of Punjab has submitted the PC-I to the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) for final clearance in order to acquire land for the Rs25 billion Leh Expressway and Flood Channel Project.

The project has already been approved by the Punjab Planning and Development Board, and land acquisition will commence following CDWP PC-I clearance.
The managing director of WASA, Raja Shaukat Mehmood, told the media that Rs. 250 million will be required to relocate water delivery pipes and tubewells. In contrast, Rs364 million will be required to relocate the sewerage lines along Leh Nullah.
He asserted that the WASA is searching for new locations for tubewells and water distribution while keeping the convenience of the people in mind.
