WASA Purposed for Raising Charges for Commercial Buildings
Lahore: According to our sources, the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) in Lahore will boost augmentation charges for multi-story commercial structures by about 200%. A draft of the rate increase document has already been produced and will soon be presented to the government for final approval.
According to WASA’s managing director, Mr. Syed Zahid Aziz, the rate changes for Ferozpur Road are advised in order to raise funds for the construction and upkeep of the sewerage system.
Our reports indicate that Rs. 600,000 will be levied for single-story commercial constructions. The price was Rs. 200,000 earlier. Similar to this, Rs. 650,000 rather than Rs. 225,000 will be charged for the one Kanal, double-story construction.
Instead of charging Rs. 250,000 for a single Kanal triple story, Rs. 700,000 will be demanded. Moreover, a four-story structure on one Kanal will cost Rs. 800,000 rather than Rs. 300,000.

Another significant point is that WASA engaged a Chinese company to install water meters for residential and commercial users in November 2021.
