Women Crisis Centres to be Set up in Four Districts
Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has devised a plan to create new crisis centres for women in the districts of Dera Ismail Khan, Buner, Nowshera, and Swabi.

According to an official statement, the decision was made during a meeting presided over by Chief Minister Mahmood Khan in which issues related to shelter homes were discussed.
The participants of the meeting were informed that eight shelter houses were currently fully operational in various districts of the province, while construction was underway on a facility in Lower Dir and the shelter home in Kohat was undergoing an upgrade.
The government has signed a contract with Pakistan Baitul Mal for the creation and operation of eight shelter homes, including two in Peshawar and one in each divisional capital. Four of these shelter homes are already operational, and around 97,000 people have utilized their services to date.

The chief minister described the building of shelter homes as a vital aspect of the welfare state envisioned by Prime Minister Imran Khan. He stated that the government was taking significant steps to improve the management of shelter homes in order to assist deserving individuals.
