Work on First Phase of Ravi Riverfront City to Start Soon
Foreign investors were urged to invest in the new city on the outskirts of the provincial capital, so the work on the first phase of Ravi Riverfront City would begin soon, most likely within the first week of October, and be completed ahead of schedule.

Ravi City, measuring 46 kilometers in length and 3,280 feet in width and enclosed by a 33-foot-tall wall, would be a gift to the people of Lahore.
Three barrages would be constructed to achieve the desired riverbank water level, since the project was expected to produce huge economic activity through the construction of new jobs, housing facilities, a clean environment, and modern facilities.
However, 836 cu-secs of untreated domestic wastewater was dumped into the project area of the Ravi River, and development of a lake would purge the Ravi of domestic and industrial waste and provide 271 billion liters of water, while waste water treatment plants would help treat 2.4 million liters of water that would be used to irrigate 75,000 acres of land.
Prior to the commencement of the project, the city had the capability to control a water flow of 586,000 cu-secs in the event of a natural disaster such as flooding.
