Work on International Standard Runway at Faisalabad Airport
The international grade runway at Faisalabad Airport is expected to be finished in August 2022 and cost Rs 3,58 billion.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) disclosed that the runway would be the primary runway at the airport and would be equipped with a contemporary instrument landing system (ILS).

The development of an international-standard runway will facilitate the landing of the Boeing 777 and other large aircraft. “After construction, cargo flights will also be operated,” stated the CAA.
In addition, the aviation authority’s spokesman stated that a fire station costing Rs 220 million would be constructed at the airport alongside the runway.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) opened the secondary runway of Faisalabad airport to commercial aircraft in January of this year after completing all safety assessments.
A foreign airliner has successfully landed on the secondary runway of Faisalabad International Airport, which the aviation authorities allowed to air traffic at the start of 2021.

The CAA official stated that the secondary runway at Faisalabad airport is being constructed so that flight operations can continue during the main runway’s upgrade.
The airport’s main runway has already been upgraded by the relevant authorities, and the project will be completed within 18 months.
