Work on Karachi’s Red Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) to Start Soon
According to news sources, Trans Karachi and a construction company have signed an agreement to begin building on the much-delayed 29-kilometer-long Red Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project in Karachi. The project supported by the Asia Development Bank (ADB) will commence within 90 days.

The Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) will regulate the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), commonly known as the Karachi Breeze Red Line Project, whereas Trans Karachi will carry out the project.
Model Colony and Namaish Chowrangi will be connected by the Red Line Metro via Airport, Safura Chowrangi, Meteorology, and University Road. The Red Line BRT will comprise 24 stops and 213 buses over its 29-kilometer length and will intersect the Green Line project at Jinnah Avenue.

The Sindh government is anticipated to invest PKR 78.384 billion, while the remaining money would come from ADB, the UN Green Climate Fund (GCF), the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), and the French Agency for Development (AFD). When finished, the facility will have the capacity to accommodate up to 300,000 passengers per day.
