11% Increase in FDI in 7 Months According to Fy-2021-22
Karachi: According to our sources, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) announced an 11% growth in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) for the first seven months of fiscal year 2021-22 on February 17th. From January to July of 2022, a total of $1,166 billion will flow in.
The bank also disclosed that FDI in January 2022 will be reduced by fifty percent compared to January 2021. It is reduced from 218.7 million USD to 110 million USD. This year, January saw a 35% year-over-year decline.
China will be the source of the most FDI, at USD 306.4 million. Inflows of FDI totaled USD 432.6 million over the same time in fiscal year 21. Hong Kong will provide USD 123.6 million to Pakistan.
Malaysian and Singaporean investments will increase to USD 70,6 million and USD 60,9 million, respectively. Last year, both $10 million and $18 million were donated.
