ISLAMABAD: The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop a new 2,000-kanal residential project within Capital Smart City, near Islamabad International Airport.
The proposed housing scheme will be developed through a land-sharing arrangement, bringing together public and private sector resources to support residential development. The initiative aims to provide affordable housing opportunities for federal government employees.
FGEHA Director General Muhammad Zafar Iqbal said the agreement represents a step towards addressing the housing needs of government employees through cooperation between the authority and private-sector partners.
Under the proposed plan, the project will cover 2,000 kanals of land within Capital Smart City. The land-sharing model will provide the framework for development, although detailed information about the allocation of land, construction schedule, and implementation arrangements has not yet been announced.
The initiative reflects FGEHA’s efforts to explore additional housing options for federal employees while working with private developers. Its location near Islamabad International Airport also places the proposed scheme within the wider airport-area development corridor.
However, key details, including plot prices, eligibility criteria, application procedures, and the expected completion date, remain undisclosed. Interested government employees will need to wait for further announcements from FGEHA before making decisions about applications or allocations.
