AIOU to Set up Centers of Excellence to Counter Islamophobia
Islamabad: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has chosen to build four centres of excellence with a variety of goals, including combating the rise of Islamophobia.

It was stated that four centres of excellence would combat growing Islamophobia, raise the analytical level of discourse within the Muslim scholarly community, and disseminate the philosophy of Allama Mohammad Iqbal in order to produce oral histories, train oral historians, and promote Sufi thought based on the principles of love, peace, and equality.
Using the biography of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the centre will also play a crucial role in addressing the intellectual difficulties confronting Pakistani society; for this aim, famous Muslim scholars from throughout the world will be recruited.

The main purpose of establishing the Archives of Intelligentsia of Pakistan is to preserve the oral history collection of eminent scholars of the country and to train oral historians, according to Dr. Zia, who added that these centres would generate and disseminate knowledge in the form of books and research articles, which will be translated into various languages by the university’s Translation Studies Department for the benefit of all.
