Air Patrolling Unit of Islamabad Police Force Formally Launched
The interior minister disclosed that the Islamabad police force has a specialised air patrol unit. Minister of the Interior Sheikh Rashid Ahmed stated at a press conference that the Islamabad Police had added policemen to its air patrolling unit.
Initial operations of the new air security unit will include twelve drones and two locators for real-time tracking and observation. The unit would participate with the Safe City project of the Islamabad Police Department.
The air support unit provides excellent airborne surveillance and additional support to the patrol and specialized units of the police department.

According to Islamabad police officials, the unit will enhance officer and public safety, reduce crime, and bolster the security of the city. Late in the year 2020, police in the capital city of Pakistan began employing drones to pursue suspects, enhance police monitoring, and protect public safety.
