MANSEHRA: The district administration has directed the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) to accelerate restoration work on the Saiful Muluk Road after flash floods damaged a section of the route connecting the popular tourist destination with Naran.
According to an order issued by the deputy commissioner, a team of revenue officials, led by the assistant commissioner on special duty, inspected the damaged portion and declared the route unsafe for traffic.
The administration has instructed the KDA to immediately deploy heavy machinery and begin restoration work on a priority basis to reopen the road and facilitate the return of tourism activities in the area.
The road was closed following cloudburst-triggered flash floods that washed away part of the route. Before the closure, around 200 jeeps carrying stranded tourists were rescued on July 30 as authorities worked to ensure public safety.
Officials highlighted the urgency of restoring the road as the tourism season is currently at its peak. Saiful Muluk Lake remains one of the most popular attractions in the region, drawing large numbers of domestic and international visitors during the summer season.
Local traders and members of the business community have welcomed the administration’s decision, expressing hope that the early reopening of the route will help revive tourism-related businesses and restore economic activity in the area.
The restoration of the Saiful Muluk Road is expected to provide safer access to the lake and support the continued flow of tourists to the Kaghan Valley.
