Bahawalpur Cantonment Board Collects Record High Tax Revenue
Bahawalpur: Bahawalpur Cantonment Board (BCB) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rana Ramiz Shafqat recently revealed that the board received a record-breaking PKR 900 million in tax revenue under various heads for the fiscal year that ended on August 31.

The Bahawalpur Cantonment Board collected 150 million Pakistani rupees over the same period previous year. According to the CEO, retail plazas, businesses, contractual structures, and open parks provided revenue for the board. The objective, according to him, is to make BCB financially sustainable.
Regarding how the funds will be utilized, he noted that the money would be spent on various development projects throughout the cantonment’s five wards, including the construction of road infrastructure, to provide basic amenities.

He added that PKR 40 million will be allocated for the restoration and development of four roads: Sarwar Shaheed Road, Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Road, Shabeer Sharif Road in Model Town A, and Malook Shah Road. Additionally, he claimed that the sewage system and park will be renovated in collaboration with the Punjab government.
