The Balochistan government has officially approved a major administrative restructuring, increasing the province’s total number of divisions from eight to eleven and districts from 36 to 41.
The notification was issued by the provincial Revenue Department following approval by the Balochistan Cabinet.
Province Now Has 11 Divisions
Under the new administrative setup, Balochistan’s divisions are:
- Quetta
- Rakhshan
- Makuran
- Naseerabad
- Zhob
- Loralai
- Koh-i-Suleman
- Pishin
- Lasbela
- Sevi
- Khuzdar
The government has also officially updated the spellings of Makran to Makuran and Sibi to Sevi.
Quetta District Split Into Two
As part of the restructuring, the former Quetta district has been divided into Quetta East and Quetta West.
Quetta East will include:
- Sariab
- Saddar
- City subdivisions
Quetta West will comprise:
- Kuchlak
- Brewery
- Panjpai subdivisions
In addition, Mastung district has been shifted from the former Kalat Division to Quetta Division. The division will now consist of Quetta East, Quetta West, and Mastung.
Kalat Division Replaced
The government has abolished Kalat Division and replaced it with two new divisions:
Khuzdar Division, comprising:
- Khuzdar
- Kalat
- Surab
- Wadh (new district)
Lasbela Division, comprising:
- Lasbela
- Hub
- Awaran
New Pishin Division Created
A new Pishin Division has also been established. It includes:
- Pishin
- Qila Abdullah
- Chaman
- Barshore (new district)
The newly created Barshore district was formed by dividing the former Pishin district into two administrative units.
Sevi Division Introduced
The former Sibi Division has officially been renamed Sevi Division.
Under the revised structure, Sevi Division will include:
- Sevi
- South Dera Bugti
- Kachhi
With these changes, Balochistan now comprises 11 divisions and 41 districts, marking one of the province’s largest administrative reorganizations in recent years.
