Bestway Cement to Set Up a Brownfield Plant in KPK
Bestway Cement Limited has unveiled a substantial investment plan to extend its operations with a new brownfield cement factory in the Haripur area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to a stock filing, the company intends to construct a brownfield cement factory in the district, which will add 7,200 tonnes of clinker per day, a 9MW waste heat recovery facility, and a 6.4MW off-grid solar power plant.
The company has chosen to expand its activities to meet the expanding domestic demand for construction supplies.
The company has inked a contract with Sinoma International Engineering Co Ltd. for the waste heat recovery plant in Hattar. In addition, a contract has been inked with Reon Energy for the off-grid solar power plant.
According to Best way Cement Limited, it has obtained all regulatory licences and made all financial arrangements to carry out the growth plans, but it has not provided the investment amounts in its statement to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.

Currently, the construction industry in Pakistan is thriving. It has also increased nationwide demand for construction supplies, especially cement.
In the coming years, the cement industry is expected to expand its capacity, as several major cement manufacturers have announced the construction of new plants in multiple cities.
