BISP Approves New Performance Management System for Employees
Islamabad: The board of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), the government’s social safety net, has decided to adopt an international system of evaluating employee performance in order to encourage them to improve their work and be rewarded accordingly.

At a meeting of the BISP board, the new Performance Management System (PMS) with the name “Bell Curve Concept” was approved.
The system will aid in evaluating the performance of employees. Those who are identified as high-top performers are rewarded: they are motivated to grow and work harder.
The new PMS will evaluate the relative performance of employees based on goal-setting sheets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) designed for benchmark positions. A new rating grid will be implemented, allowing for the recognition of employees whose performance and results exceed expectations and the identification of those who fall short.
Board members approved a new organisational structure, introducing the concept of opening BISP offices at the district level and dividing all provinces into three empowered zones with delegation of administrative and financial powers to ensure swift decision-making at the appropriate level.
