Cabinet Mulls Regularizing Housing Schemes in Islamabad
According to a news report, the federal cabinet has resolved to regularize unapproved/irregular housing developments in various zones of Islamabad, including Zone-II, Zone-IV, and Zone-V.

The relevant cabinet meeting was convened on August 17th. During the discussion, it was suggested that a committee be formed to advise and develop an effective policy for regularizing unapproved housing schemes.
Members of the Federal Commission for Revision of Master Plan of Islamabad will compose the proposed committee. Other members will consist of CDA members/Secretary, Vice Chairman of Planning, Planner/Architect Sikandar Ajam, Architect Murad Jamil, DG/DDG Planning, and other pertinent officials.
According to information provided by the Ministry of the Interior, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) would provide the Commission with the necessary funding, logistical support, and personnel for its effective operation.

In addition, the panel will provide guidance to the authority about the regularization of unapproved housing schemes. It was announced that commission members will be compensated from the CDA’s financial budget.
It is crucial to note that the Federal Cabinet created a commission to study the Master Plan for Islamabad.
