Cabinet to Likely Favor Rs 1 Billion Fund for Publicity Drive
Islamabad: At its meeting, the federal cabinet is expected to approve a Rs 1 billion supplemental grant for the promotion of government initiatives.

In order to provide Rs 1 billion in funding for media coverage of government projects, the Ministry of Information sent a report to the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet. After approval, the ECC sent the matter to the federal cabinet.
The Ministry of Information stated in the documents that it was necessary to raise public awareness of the housing projects currently being undertaken by the government, as well as the various welfare projects funded by the Ehsas programme, information technology, food security, and ongoing energy sector projects.

To that end, the government plans to launch an electronic media advertising campaign.
Several federal government projects, according to the Ministry of Information, have a direct impact on people’s lives, but the government was unable to notify the public about these initiatives due to a lack of funding.
Public education regarding safety precautions for the third wave of the Covid-19 outbreak is also necessary.
The ECC states that an additional award worth Rs 1 billion will be given out in accordance with the established mechanism for promoting government activities.
