CDA Allows Construction of Commercial Buildings Along Srinagar Highway

News: Construction on the Srinagar Highway’s restoration and widening has reached its conclusion. Several requests to permit the construction of commercial buildings along the Srinagar Highway were submitted to CDA by various businesses. On one side of Srinagar Highway, the Capital Development Authority Planning Wing has approved the construction of commercial structures. An unbiased news source broke this story.

The Srinagar Highway, formerly known as the Kashmir Highway in accordance with Islamabad’s master plan from 1960, has begun to be renovated and extended by CDA. Over 1200 feet would be added to the Srinagar Highway, according to CDA officials. The authority has purchased land in important parts of the federal capital for this use. The CDA has made the decision to give private and public contractors access to the property along the Srinagar Highway for the construction of commercial structures and a plaza. The right side of Srinagar Highway in Zone-2 will be designated for the construction of commercial buildings, in contrast to the 1960s master plan.

Also, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has opted against purchasing the land on the highway’s reaming right side because it has already permitted the construction of structures in Sector G-16 and Sector G-17. The Capital Development Authority board made this decision and communicated it to the relevant agencies and government organisations.

Commercial plots are broken up on the land area that is on the right side of this main route. Moreover, Capital Development has set a price for the commercial plots next to the Srinagar Highway; those who are interested must pay 7,500 per square foot for the commercial plots. Additionally, the buyers will also pay the cost of the land conversion.

Officials from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) have also informed the Pakistani newspaper The Gazette about this modification to the Islamabad City master plan.
