The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has demolished 82 illegally constructed structures during a large-scale anti-encroachment operation in Chontra Village, Islamabad, as part of its ongoing campaign to reclaim state-owned land.
The operation involved heavy machinery to remove 67 unauthorized shops and 15 vacant houses that, according to CDA officials, had been built illegally on government property.
The demolition drive was carried out under the supervision of the Assistant Commissioner, with close coordination between the district administration and CDA enforcement teams.
To maintain law and order, a heavy police contingent remained deployed throughout the operation, ensuring the exercise was completed without any major disruptions.
The CDA reiterated that its anti-encroachment campaign will continue across Islamabad until all illegal occupations of public land are removed. The authority reaffirmed its commitment to protecting government property and taking strict action against unauthorized construction.
