CDA Initiate Awareness Campaign for Green Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: To combat environmental pollution in the city of Islamabad, the Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) Environment Wing is implementing proactive measures.
A public awareness walk is planned for Wednesday as part of their endeavours.
The walk aims to increase public awareness of the damaging impacts of invasive and inefficient plants on the environment and human health, according to sources.

The awareness campaign will begin in a number of city locations, including Trail Five (5) Margalla Hills and the National Park, on Wednesday from 4 to 5 p.m.
By planting beneficial kinds of plants and trees while reducing the prevalence of detrimental plants, the emphasis will be on stressing the significance of a healthy ecosystem.
The goal is to progressively remove paper mulberry trees and swap them out for native plants found in the area.

The officials stated that in order to guarantee widespread public participation in the campaign, participation from individuals from both private and public institutions is encouraged.
Along with the awareness walk, residents will also learn about the advantages of helpful and human-friendly flora.
The community will gain from the newly planted trees and plants thanks to this participatory approach.
Additionally, on July 10 from 10 am to 12 pm, the Environment Wing will have a public hearing at the Gandhara Citizens Club in F-9 Park, Islamabad.
This hearing’s goal is to give people from all areas of life the chance to voice their opinions on eliminating noxious plants and herbs in the wild.
