CDA Seeks Execution of Two Road Projects on Single Tender
Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has requested permission from the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) to carry out the 10th Avenue and I.J.P. Road projects via the Ministry of Defence on the basis of a single tender.

The PPRA was asked to waive the regulations for five projects by the CDA last month. According to sources, the PPRA met on April 1 and decided to allow the CDA to obtain three projects—Khayaban-i- Margalla, the Alipur Farash Apartments project, and Ghazi Barotha Water Supply—through the defence ministry on the basis of a single tender.
PPRA, however, declined to grant an exception for the project along 10th Avenue and IJP Road. According to sources, CDA recently asked PPRA to exempt the two projects through the finance ministry.
According to sources, the federal government had previously authorised CDA’s petition to have three projects carried out through the Ministry of Defense after the PPRA was passed, and the Frontier Work Organization (FWO) was poised to begin the three approved projects.

According to the sources, attempts are currently being undertaken to secure PPRA approval for the two projects that remain.
I.J.P. Road reconstruction, according to CDA authorities, will cost about Rs6 billion, and building 10th Avenue will cost several billions as well.
