CDA to Revive Ladies Club Project in Sector G-10
Islamabad: According to news reports, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has tasked its engineering division with reviving the Ladies Club in Sector G-10 project and resolving the issues blocking its completion.
The project was initiated in 2006 with a budget of PKR 182.8 million, but it was discontinued due to fiscal difficulties. In a recent meeting, the CDA’s engineering division requested permission to solicit additional bids for the project.
The 2006 proposal for the project included a mini-cinema, a swimming pool, coffee shops, restaurants, a library, squash and tennis facilities, and a gymnasium. The updated design of the project now includes two basements, raising the total cost to PKR 335.7 million.
According to reports, in order to begin construction on the project as soon as possible, the board has demanded that the engineering division present a revised Project Concept-1 (PC-1) and begin issuing bids for the project.
In addition to the club in Sector G-10, the CDA aims to focus on a number of other municipal initiatives, including an art and craft village, a culture complex in Shakarparian, and a citizens’ club in Sector F-9.
