CDWP Green-lights Two Projects
Islamabad: The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has proposed three schemes totaling Rs 402.305 billion to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) for consideration. Two development projects totaling Rs 3.37 billion have been approved by the CDWP.

A project for the Punjab Resources Improvement and Digital Effectiveness (PRIDE) Program titled “Establishment of Public Financial Management Unit (PFMU) and Programme Support Unit (PSU) in Finance Department and Planning and Development (P&D) Board respectively” costing Rs 86.78 million was recommended to Ecnec during the meeting. The proposal aims to boost revenue while enhancing resource allocation dependability and access to digital services for residents and businesses in the province.
By improved use of information technologies, the initiative primarily targets three challenges: managing fiscal risk, generating revenue, and managing expenditures.

Two transportation and communication-related projects, “Construction of Dir Motorway” ($38.99 billion) and “Peshawar-DI Khan Motorway (360 km)” ($276.5 billion), have been forwarded to Ecnec for further review.
A position paper titled “Pandemic Response Effectiveness Project for Covid-19” costing Rs 810.396 million was also approved by the CDWP.
