Centre-Sindh Coordination for Mega Projects Completion
Prime Minister Imran Khan urged the Sindh government to review the Bundal island project and asked for greater coordination between the federal and provincial governments to ensure the effective completion of game-changing initiatives.

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail stated at the time that the government aimed to establish a city that would “surpass Dubai” and generate 150,000 jobs with an investment of approximately $50 billion.
In October of last year, the federal government seized the twin islands of Bundal and Dingi near the mouth of Korangi Creek off the Arabian Sea coast of Karachi through an overnight presidential edict.
However, fishermen claim that the construction on the islands is stretched across 12,000 acres (49 square kilometres), which could threaten their way of life, and that they were not consulted.
During his talk, he discussed the transportation issues faced by Karachi’s population, lamenting that this sector had been ignored and that few investments had been made to modernise the network.

The 29-kilometer rail will have sixteen stops and twenty-four grade crossings. The track will be laid by Frontier Works Organization, and mechanised, air-conditioned coaches will run on it, he said.
Each train will consist of a locomotive and four carriages, with a capacity of 814 passengers. To acquire the trains, international bids will be solicited.
