Changan Alsvin Now Costs Up to Rs. 5 Million After GST Hike
Car prices from Master Changan Motors Limited (MCML) have been raised by up to Rs. 520,000 citing the GST hike as the reason for the increase.
The new prices are now in effect. Despite this, Changan’s products are considered to be some of the most economical in their respective categories. In January, the company celebrated selling over 40,000 units in the past two years, surpassing several major automakers in sales volume to become the largest automaker.

The success of the Karvaan minivan and Alsvin sedan drives MCML’s sales. Alsvin 1.3 Comfort Manual which was at PKR 3,929,000 has reached PKR 4,149,000 whereas Alsvin 1.5 Comfort DCT which was initially at Rs.4,239,000 has gone up to Rs. 4,699,000. Overall this was quite a hike in prices due to the inflation in the economy.

However, the recent decline in production and sales in the industry may impact Changan’s growth.
